Requirements
  • A Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
  • Proven experience in commissioning, designing, or constructing electrical systems, especially in data centers or mission-critical environments.
  • Extensive knowledge of electrical systems, medium-to-low-voltage electrical distribution systems, power generation systems, uninterruptible power supply systems, and control systems.
  • Ability to read and interpret construction documents, specifications, and engineering design drawings.
  • Ability to read and operate electrical test equipment.
  • Proficiency with commissioning software and tools, including Microsoft Office Suite; mid-level and experienced-level candidates must also be proficient with Procore and CxAlloy.
  • Ability to travel to different data center locations as needed.
  • Successful background check, including pre-employment drug screening.
  • Canadian citizenship, permanent residence, or eligibility to work in Canada.
Responsibilities
  • Conduct commissioning activities for electrical and Electrical Power Monitoring Systems/Building Management and Automation Systems in data centers.
  • Create and implement detailed commissioning plans, procedures, and checklists for Level 2, Level 3, Level 4, and Level 5 systems.
  • Review and evaluate design documents, submittals, and equipment specifications.
  • Conduct site inspections, functional performance tests, and system verifications.
  • Witness equipment testing during commissioning and validate sequences of operation.
  • Work with project teams, including contractors, engineers, and data center operators, to maintain the project schedule.
  • Diagnose and resolve system performance, reliability, and safety issues.
  • Document results and findings and generate comprehensive commissioning reports.
  • Communicate with clients about project status.
  • Provide training and support to data center staff on system operation and maintenance.
  • Ensure adherence to industry standards, codes, and regulations.
  • Attend project meetings and provide technical expertise.
