Requirements
  • A bachelor's degree in business administration or a related field, or equivalent work experience. Candidates without a bachelor's degree typically need four years of related, progressive work experience.
  • Measurement Analyst I candidates require zero to two years of related measurement experience in the energy industry.
  • Measurement Analyst II candidates require three to five years of related measurement experience in the energy industry.
  • Senior Measurement Analyst candidates require five or more years of related measurement experience in the energy industry.
  • Advanced mathematical skills to identify measurement discrepancies during the month-end close process.
  • Strong personal computer skills and working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel.
  • Ability to adapt to technology changes in the measurement industry.
  • Ability to work in an environment characterized by peak loads and severe time constraints.
  • Ability to work overtime and weekends as necessary to meet monthly close deadlines.
  • Effective oral, written, and presentation skills.

Responsibilities
  • Lead efforts to minimize pipeline unaccounted-for results and their economic impact by providing accurately analyzed and consolidated data for pipeline balance.
  • Act as a point of contact for internal and external customer service related to measurement data.
  • Maintain the measurement database containing historical volumetric and gas quality information for all pipeline stations.
  • Prepare and provide measurement reports to internal and external customers.
  • Maintain accurate records of measurement reports, including meter calibration reports, as the office of record for measurement documents required for contractual and litigation issues.
  • Work with field operations to set up new measurement facilities and ensure they are included in the balance report for accurate pipeline balancing.
  • Ensure the integrity of electronic flow measurement data and resolve system processing errors, missing or incorrect data, and physical-parameter issues.
  • Identify issues and recommend solutions for problems related to measurement and data processing.
  • Work with information technology staff on enhancements and upgrades to measurement-related applications.
  • Work with operations and information technology to identify incorrect data from the Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition host and ensure inaccuracies are corrected.
  • Process prior-period adjustments to measurement data identified as inaccurate for previous months' volumes.
  • Write and revise measurement procedures, provide training on measurement data processes, and fulfill audit and other data requests.
  • Process or reprocess measurement data from orifice and positive charts for custody-transfer and other volumes used for billing and transaction payments.
  • Identify and resolve anomalies with field personnel and other sources.
  • Serve as the point person for task forces relating to measurement information.
  • Provide technical validation of gas analyses and quality information using reasonableness checks and historical information.
  • Provide technical input to assist in project planning.
  • Perform additional assigned responsibilities.
