Requirements
  • A minimum of 7 years of experience in Administration, Maintenance, Deployment, and Integration including Installation and Configuration of WebSphere MQ version 8 and higher.
  • Experience with installation, maintenance, and support of External Service Bus (ESB), Internal Service Bus (ISB) and MQ channel connections.
  • Experience with security hardening of WebSphere MQ to include SSL encryption and Authority/Authentication Records.
  • Expert in defining and modifying MQ configurations such as data sources, listener ports, transports, channels, pub/sub, etc.
  • Ability to configure application Messaging Software to stress test the software’s abilities in both a distributed queue manager and cluster configurations.
  • Experience implementing or overseeing the implementation of all MQ objects.
  • Tuning, issue research and resolution, end user support and application access.
  • Available for on-call work.
  • Technical bachelor's degree or 5+ years of proven related professional experience.
  • Experience managing system change within a Change Management construct.
  • Ability to conduct problem resolution with given management tools.
  • Well versed in developing and maintaining current Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Experience with System Monitoring Tools.
  • General knowledge of scripting (Perl, Shell, etc).
  • General knowledge of various UNIX, LlNUX and Windows Operating systems.
  • Active DOD Secret clearance and ability to obtain agency suitability clearance.
Responsibilities
  • Candidate will be responsible for implementing, maintaining, and configuring multiple WebSphere MQ instances.
  • Excel in MQ technical knowledge, software support and technical guidance in support of business-critical systems.
  • Responsible for internal and external MQ connections supporting national security system.
  • Maintain, monitor and report MQ health and recommend improvements.
  • Support MQ queue managers and objects running client operating systems.
  • Work with application Development Teams to determine messaging requirements. Utilize that information to establish and modify enterprise Messaging Software infrastructure requirements.
  • Monitor execution and performance of messaging applications. Propose tuning adjustments (both application and environment) modifications as appropriate.
  • Provide level 2 production, testing and development support (taking care of messaging problems to see through resolution).
  • Perform queue manager backup and recovery.
  • Participate as a subject matter and technical expert in technical reviews of MQ applications.
  • Participate in capacity and disaster recovery planning and asset management.
  • Define hardware configurations for new and existing MQ applications.
