What believers are saying

  • 2025 revenue reached €507 million, up 11% year over year.
  • Backlog hit €777 million at March 2026, covering 17 months.
  • Management is buying capability in electric mobility, architecture, and Swiss building markets.

What critics are saying

  • Three 2026 acquisitions—Bollinger + Fehlig, Pierre Chuard, and Evectra—stretch integration through 2027.
  • Ingérop depends on public and construction spending; French project delays hit backlog fast.
  • If overseas roll-up falters, the 40% foreign-revenue goal for 2030-2031 collapses.

What makes Ingérop unique

  • Ingérop stayed independent while scaling to €507 million revenue in 2025.
  • Its 2026 roll-up spans Germany, Spain, and Switzerland through targeted acquisitions.
  • It combines transport, water, energy, and building engineering across more than 70 countries.

EDF invests in Otrera's $19M round to secure advanced nuclear reactor technology

EDF has invested in Otrera New Energy, which raised €17 million to develop a sodium-cooled fast reactor. The move represents a strategic shift for EDF towards a portfolio approach to nuclear innovation, observing multiple reactor architectures rather than backing a single technology. The investment reflects changing energy demand driven by artificial intelligence, data centres and reindustrialisation. Otrera plans to use funds for industrialisation, including detailed engineering, testing facilities and a production site near Cherbourg. The company builds on France's historical expertise in sodium-cooled reactors from the Phénix and Superphénix programmes. Other investors include industrial groups like Groupe ADF and SNEF, suggesting focus on manufacturing capability. Otrera plans another €40 million fundraise by year-end to advance critical components and industrial partnerships.
