Bon Secours cuts ribbon on Five Forks emergency center.

Bon Secours cuts ribbon on Five Forks emergency center. Bon Secours St. Francis Health System recently opened a new freestanding emergency department in Simpsonville, South Carolina's rapidly growing Five Forks area. "As Greenville County continues to grow, we're committed to meeting people where they are and bringing high-quality emergency care closer to home so families don't have to travel far during critical moments," says Matt Caldwell, president of Bon Secours St. Francis health System. The $23 million, 12,500-square-foot facility features nine exam rooms, including a dedicated trauma room, along with on-site CT and X-ray imaging, as well as mobile MRI and mammography imaging. The new center will offer patients 24-hour access to a wide range of emergency medical services. Bon Secours Five Forks - is the latest standardized, free-standing emergency department for the Bon Secours Mercy Health system. It joins Bon Secours Ashland, Bon Secours Simpsonville, Bon Secours Chester, and Mercy Health Champion of scalable prototypes GBBN Architects designed in collaboration with Bon Secours Mercy Health. This system of prototypes, which was also used at Kings Mills Hospital allows the health system to maintain brand recognition, deploy new facilities efficiently, and cost-effectively, while also responding to the unique contexts such as different building sites, geography, climate, local communities, or culture. "Rapid, responsive coordination between the design and construction teams kept field issues from becoming delays, allowing decisions to be made quickly, documented immediately, and implemented in real time," notes GBBN's Lynn Belhumeur, reflecting on the project's success. "The continuity of our key team members across these free-standing emergency department projects further streamlined decision-making and reinforced proven solutions, reducing redundancy and strengthening trust throughout construction."
