  • Completion of a Cardiovascular or Radiology Technology program
  • ARRT-Radiography credential (ARRT-R)
  • State-specific required licenses/certifications: Illinois - Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider (BLS HCP) American Heart Association, Advanced Life Support (ALS) American Heart Association, Radiologic Technologists licensed by Illinois Emergency Management Agency (IEMA) or Temporary Accreditation by IEMA, ARRT-R Radiography; Missouri - Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider (BLS HCP), Advanced Life Support (ALS), ARRT-R Radiography; Wisconsin - Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider (BLS HCP), Advanced Life Support (ALS), ARRT-R Radiography, Radiographer Licensed by Wisconsin Department of Safety and Professional Services; Additional requirement for Illinois/Missouri/Wisconsin: ARRT-R Radiography; For all locations: Must be able to work at least 30 percent of full-time in a secondary modality to be eligible for a Multiple Modality job; Experience: No experience required
Responsibilities
  • Prepares patients for procedures. Reviews medical history, positions patients and cleans/shaves/numbs testing sites as appropriate.
  • Interprets, describes and reports test results; recognizes recording errors and artifacts and reacts appropriately.
  • Prepares and maintains equipment, supplies and lab area and ensures equipment is properly functioning. Reports potential problems or equipment malfunction to appropriate personnel. Lock/tag out equipment if appropriate.
  • Assists in maintaining a clean and orderly department.
  • Prepares and administers contrast media and medications within the accepted scope of practice and applicable state and federal regulations.
  • Observes patient during procedure and reports abnormal activity. Monitors protocols and recommends updates or refinements as warranted.
  • Follows radiation safety procedures and guidelines.
  • Ensures all activities comply with regulatory agency standards.
  • May perform point of care testing according to policies and procedures.
  • Works in a constant state of alertness and safe manner.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
