Requirements
  • Graduation from a recognized college or university with a bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, or at least 10 years of experience for candidates without a bachelor's degree, with four years substitutable for the degree on a year-for-year basis, or completion of a recognized low voltage apprenticeship program.
  • A minimum of 6 years of full-time paid professional hands-on experience related to the listed duties in a similar or equivalent position.
  • Experience working with on-site construction management teams and campus administrators, faculty, and staff.
Responsibilities
  • Survey old Public Address or PBX/Telephone systems.
  • Repair broken or defective equipment found while surveying.
  • Inspect and remove old Public Address systems and install or replace them with temporary systems.
  • Ensure temporary Public Address systems interface with PBX/Telephone systems before installation of new systems.
  • Coordinate and install new Public Address systems.
  • Program new Public Address systems.
  • Install and program temporary passing bells.
  • Wire and test new Public Address systems.
  • Interface newly installed Public Address systems with the existing Voice over Internet Protocol system.
  • Clean up and remove temporary Public Address systems.
  • Remove and decommission old PBX/Telephone systems, PBX phones, and old Uninterruptible Power Supply systems.
  • Plan, analyze, and coordinate site equipment requirements.
  • Coordinate with Project Managers to establish project priority lists.
Desired Qualifications
  • BICSI Technician Certification (TECH).
  • Cisco Certified Technician (CCT).
  • Certified Valcom Public Address Installer.
