Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management or equivalent experience
10+ years of professional experience working in purchasing and supply chain roles with increasing responsibility
Excellent communication skills and demonstrated ability to work cross-functionally
Masters degree in Supply Chain Management or similar
Experience building procurement and supply chain tools and processes in a startup environment
Experience building a team or helping to build a team in a startup environment
Experience working on a flight development programs
Experience procuring difficult to acquire aerospace materials and subsystems
Experience working in or handling classified mission systems
Familiarity with procurement of classified subsystems or components

Responsibilities

Work with company leaders to establish, manage and mature Hermeus' supply chain management strategy as Hermeus grows and evolves
Establish key supplier qualifications and metrics
Develop logistics strategy to ensure cost and schedule efficient delivery of goods and services
Work with ERP & IT team to establish supplier database/network strategy
Work with ERP team to mature purchasing workflow
Work with Hermeus legal team to mature terms and conditions with an eye on fast execution
Establish lean and obstruction-free purchasing process for quick issuing of PO's
Mature/Integrate existing suppliers into Hermeus supplier network
Work with finance, engineering and manufacturing teams to ensure alignment of supply-chain strategy
Work with engineering and manufacturing teams to understand program timing and priorities to ensure alignment with development priorities and schedules
Negotiate terms and conditions with suppliers and vendors
Track supplier and vendor performance

Hermeus is a startup developing hypersonic aircraft to radically accelerate air travel. At Mach 5, more than twice the speed of the supersonic Concorde, passengers will be able to cross the Atlantic in 90 minutes. On the path to hypersonic passenger aircraft, Hermeus is partnering with government agencies including the US Air Force and NASA to develop a series of autonomous aircraft that derisk the technology and solve urgent national security challenges. These products provide the data and confidence necessary to certify, produce, operate, and maintain safe and comfortable commercial aircraft. Hypersonic aircraft have the potential to create trillions of dollars of new global economic growth per year, unlocking significant resources that can be utilized to solve the world’s greatest problems.

At Hermeus, the production team is building the machine that builds the machine. This includes the team and infrastructure needed to build Hermeus’ development and flight hardware and vehicles: Manufacturing, ERP, Procurement/Supply Chain & Facilities. Procurement and supply chain is a critical part of the production team, whose key responsibilities include building a strategic network of supplier and vendor to support Hermeus’ rapid pace of execution at reasonable cost, with accountability and assured quality. To successful candidate will demonstrate an aptitude and track record of working with company leaders to align procurement and supply chain strategy, priorities and process with company goals as they evolve from development activities to full production operation.
