Requirements
  • Must be registered with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
  • Licensure from the South Carolina Radiation Quality Standards Association is required.
  • Current American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or American Red Cross BLS for Healthcare Providers certification is required.
  • Physical requirements: Ability to perform job functions while standing, sitting, and walking; climb stairs infrequent; work indoors and outdoors in temperature extremes; work from elevated areas and in confined/cramped spaces; perform kneeling, bending, twisting, squatting; perform fine and gross motor movements; reach overhead; repetitive motions with hands/wrists/elbows and shoulders; maintain 20/40 vision with correction; maintain hearing acuity; deal effectively with stressful situations; work rotating shifts; work overtime as required; operate in a latex-safe environment; maintain tactile sensory functions; selected positions may require olfactory sensory function and respirator qualification.
Responsibilities
  • Performs radiographic procedures at a technical level requiring sound understanding of anatomical positioning and physiology; a high degree of technical competency and the ability to act with initiative and ingenuity with minimum supervision.
  • Apply ionizing radiation for radiologic diagnosis in adult and/or pediatric radiology.
  • The role functions as a resource to staff.
