- Three or more years of experience as an automotive technician or mechanic.
- Ability to diagnose and repair all makes and models of vehicles.
- Ability to meet or exceed hourly goals.
- Ability and willingness to learn additional skills and processes.
- Ability to occasionally lift or move over 100 pounds.
- Ability to work with tools on vehicles lifted above the technician's head.
- Ability to work in tight spaces as required by the repair.
- Manual dexterity to efficiently use hand tools.
- Ability to walk and stand for the majority of the workday.
- Ability to drive vehicles with manual transmissions.
- Ability to efficiently navigate a computer.
- Diagnose and repair vehicles using automotive knowledge and technical skills.
- Build experience as an automotive mechanic across a wide range of domestic and foreign vehicles.
- Complete full, accurate, and honest courtesy vehicle inspections.
- Troubleshoot guest concerns as part of a team.
- Follow and promote safety, cleanliness, and organization standards.
- Communicate guest concerns effectively with the service department.
- Work with other technicians to solve problems, meet deadlines, and deliver results.
- ASE certifications are preferred, or candidates should have a plan to achieve them.
- A positive attitude and desire to serve guests.
- Professional appearance and strong communication skills.
- A desire for long-term career development.
