The Role
We are so excited to announce we are hiring for a new position here at Gala, Cloud Product Owner. Our Cloud Product Owner is at the heart of our cloud and managed services domain, driving the vision and execution of our product strategy. As a product owner, you will be entrusted with the conception, development, and enhancement of our cloud services offerings.
Your work will involve close collaboration with various stakeholders, including clients, end-users, and the product team, to understand needs, define requirements, and oversee the product life cycle. The Product Owner is crucial in shaping the product roadmap, managing the product backlog, planning releases, coordinating sprints, and ensuring products align with the company’s vision.
This role requires a unique blend of business acumen, technical knowledge, and excellent communication skills. If you are passionate about cloud technologies and thrive in a fast-paced, agile environment, this role is for you.
Responsibilities
- Own the long-term infrastructure vision and inspire the team to achieve it. Based on this vision, create a product road map.
- Guide new features and services from inception to production while keeping internal and external customers successful.
- Maintain the team backlog, prioritizing and defining requirements while keeping a strong focus on security, reliability, and scalability of the company services, but also have an eye on the costs.
- Use data to make informed decisions about what the team should work on next and analyze the results.
- Collect/give feedback and input from/to a diverse set of internal and external stakeholders.
- Collaborating with prospective users and clients to understand and anticipate their needs and translate them into product requirements.
- Overseeing all stages of product creation, including design and development.
- Developing user stories.
- Monitoring and evaluating product progress at each stage of the process.
- Setting sprint goals, planning releases, and upgrades.
- Keeping track of industry trends.
- Determine the needs of the market.
Essential Skills and Qualifications
- Strong affinity with technology, especially cloud/container infrastructure (for example, Google Cloud Platform, Kubernetes)
- Previous hands-on experience as Software and/or DevOps Engineer/SRE or equivalent technical role
- Work experience as a product owner or in a similar role in product management.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
- Familiar with CI/CD, HA, DR, and other infrastructure/development practices
- Team player with a bottom-up ideation process
- Ability to see the big picture without losing sight of the details
- Analytical orientation and strong problem-solving skills demonstrated by the ability to structure issues and analyze alternative solutions
- Able to understand and formulate meaningful metrics
- Experience working with distributed teams
- Self-motivated, stellar work ethic, fun collaborator
- Excited by problem-solving
- Fearless
Nice-to-Have Skills and Qualifications
- Familiarity with Agile is a plus.
- Hands-on experience managing all stages of the product life cycle.
- Technical background with knowledge of software development and web techniques.
- Driven and motivated by innovation
