The Management Accountant plays an integral role in the month end process including cost centre partnering, accrual postings and balance sheet reconciliations, ultimately ensuring that accurate and timely financial information can be reported to the Board and key business stakeholders.
The Finance function operates at the heart of Rapha as a multi-functional, business facing department. Rapha is dynamic and we are looking for an individual who is happy to get into the detail to support the business and continue our growth as a world class omni-channel retailer.
THE ROLE
Month-End Ownership
- Full ownership of P&Ls and Balance Sheets for entities across UK, Europe and APAC as required
- Collating and posting general accruals and communicating releases with cost centre owners
- Calculation of royalties and commissions due to Rapha sponsored teams / athletes and brand collaborations
- Monthly loan interest and management fee postings
- Collation of PAYE and BIK accruals
- Monthly assessment of exceptional costs (below EBITDA) before delivering to management to review
- Help preparing month-end board reporting
Cost Centre Partnering
Produce annual Budgets and Forecasts, prepare monthly spend reports and deliver to Budget Owners identifying performance in month and key variances to Budget and last year. Summarised commentary for inclusion in month end packs and maintenance of rolling Forecast views for the following departments; Digital Experience, Technology, People & Culture, Product Design, Atelier and Hard Goods, Executive and Admin / Occupancy charges for all regions.
Balance Sheet
Postings, releases, general maintenance, monthly reconciliations, commentary and review of risks and opportunities for:
- Accruals accounts
- Deferred and accrued revenue accounts including voucher and event sales
- Accrued interest balances
- Sundry debtors
Compliance
Assist with queries for the above balances during our annual audit. Assist Group Financial Accountant with global financial compliance tasks during the year.
THE CANDIDATE
The ideal candidate will have the following skills and qualities:
- Part-qualified to newly qualified accountant (CIMA, ACCA, ACA)
- Strong technical ability with experience working through P&L postings during month-end
- Good knowledge of a range of Balance Sheet accounts
- Strong communication & presentation skills, demonstrating ability to present information to a range of audiences in a compelling manner
- Experience working in a fast paced environment managing multiple time-sensitive deadlines
