Requirements
  • Pursuing a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering.
  • Maintaining a minimum GPA of 3.0.
  • Completing at least two years of engineering coursework.
  • Experience with a three-dimensional computer-aided design modeling package such as SolidWorks.
  • Experience applying free-body diagrams and hand calculations to statics and dynamics.
  • Experience with geometric dimensioning and tolerancing and dimensional tolerance stack-ups.
  • Experience with Failure Modes and Effects Analysis.
  • Ability to work in a team environment and communicate verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to manage complexity and ambiguous design paths, solve problems creatively, and drive innovative solutions.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Project, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to perform precision work requiring manual dexterity and stability, see details at close range, lift up to 50 pounds, read work instructions and drawings, work at a fast pace, and traverse facilities and machinery while lifting, walking, bending, twisting, and carrying materials.
Responsibilities
  • Drive manufacturing process improvement activities through analysis and benchmarking to improve efficiency, reduce costs, and eliminate bottlenecks.
  • Design process improvement tools such as weld and assembly fixtures.
  • Support autonomous manufacturing and other process improvement technologies.
  • Create and update standard work documentation for processes, including relevant maintenance documents and practices.
  • Establish project schedules and manage timely completion of tasks.
  • Launch new products by determining component manufacturing processes that meet overall performance and cost requirements.
  • Analyze production quality and field problems to drive corrective actions.
  • Resolve issues identified on Tier Continuous Improvement Boards to help the facility achieve safety, quality, delivery, and cost improvement goals.
  • Complete other project-related assignments.
  • Work as part of a cross-functional product and process development team to improve manufacturing efficiency and quality.
  • Complete engineering analyses to drive improvements in yield, cycle time, safety, and product quality.
Desired Qualifications
  • Computer modeling experience such as finite element analysis or computational fluid dynamics.
