Senior Enterprise Engineer-Workday Extend

We are seeking a talented and motivated Workday Extend Developer to join our dynamic Workday team in Bangalore, India. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, building, enhancing and deploying custom applications and integrations on the Workday platform using Workday Extend. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in software development, cloud technologies, and a deep understanding of the Workday ecosystem. The ideal candidate will also be comfortable partnering cross-functionally and cross-regionally with team members and stakeholders across the globe in the Americas, EMEA and Asia Pacific. We need an adaptable professional that can turn broad, ambiguous business questions to scalable solutions.

Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, test, troubleshoot and deploy custom Workday Extend applications to meet complex business requirements.
• Collaborate with Workday Functional and Integrations Engineers, HR Technology Partners, Business stakeholders, and other technical and functional leads to assess requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
• Integrate Workday Extend applications with other enterprise systems using Workday APIs and web services.
• Maintain and enhance existing Workday Extend solutions, ensuring optimal performance and scalability.
• Document technical specifications, wireframe designs, and application workflows and architectures.
• Participate in code reviews, troubleshooting, and debugging to ensure solutions are well reasoned and delivered with high-quality.
• Stay current with Workday Extend updates, best practices, and emerging technologies relevant to the platform.
• Provide technical support and guidance to other Workday Engineers, end-users and stakeholders.
• Manage projects end-to-end; build and execute detailed implementation plans, including design, build, QA/test, deploy, & support components.
• Drive innovation by exploring and implementing new technologies and processes to enhance system efficiency and effectiveness.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field, or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years of experience in Workday development, with at least 3 years focused on designing and delivering Workday Extend applications using tools such as Workday App Builder and/or IntelliJ.
• Experience with JavaScript, REST APIs, SOAP APIs, JSON, XML, XSLT, HTML and cloud application development.
• Good understanding of and hands-on experience with Workday Studio, Workday Integration Cloud, EIBs, BIRT and Workday Extend tools, including Workday Orchestration.
• Robust understanding of Workday HCM fundamentals including core concepts like configurable security, integration security, business process workflow and design, calc fields, report writing, etc.
• Good problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a distributed and collaborative team.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Workday Extend certification.
• Understanding of Payroll, Expense Reporting and Finance business processes as implemented in Workday.
• Experience with Agile development methodologies. Knowledge of security best practices in SaaS and cloud environments.
• Prior experience in HCM enterprise applications integration.
• Experience designing and deploying complex integrations leveraging Workday Orchestration for Integration (O4I) to manage multi-step workflows and business processes.
