Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Biomedical Photography or related field and 2 years of experience required
  • Or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Certified Retinal Angiographer (CRA) upon hire required
  • Certified Optical Coherence Tomography Technician (OCT-C) upon hire required
Responsibilities
  • Performs ophthalmic imaging. Precepts others with the following OCT (MAC, RNFL, ANT Seg), HRT/Confocal Imaging, Fundus Photography, Fluorescein Angiography, Retcam / Handheld Fundus Photography (Operating room imaging), External/Oculofacial Plastics Photography, Slitlamp & Gonio Photography, Ultra Wide Field Fundus Imaging, AutoFluorescence Imaging, Indocyanine Green Angiography, Specular Microscopy, Videography and Video editing, and Ultrasound biomicrography.
  • Performs ophthalmic diagnostic testing. Provides backup to Visual Fields, Humphrey & Goldmann, Corneal Topography, Corneal Pachymetry, Potential Acuity Meter/Laser Interferometry, and Ocular Biometry (IOL Master).
  • Participates in human subject studies. Acquires study certification and completes yearly requirements for maintaining study certification. Disseminates new study information to assist other team members with obtaining their certifications. Ensures equipment is correctly enrolled into studies and updated as required. Works with study centers to identify and address issues related to submission of study data.
  • Participates in non-human studies. Acquires study certification and completes yearly requirements for access to animal research and vivarium. Provides imaging support for our research staff and physicians. Sets up and operates various pieces of diagnostic equipment for the different creatures. Cleans and resets the equipment appropriately so it is ready for regular use. Attends training courses and gathers working knowledge of new technology used primarily with non-human imaging. Provides guidance and coverage to help other interested team members become involved with animal research.
