- A high school diploma or GED is required.
- Post-secondary automotive training or equivalent work experience is required.
- Broad automotive mechanical and electrical knowledge is required.
- An unrestricted driver's license and clean driving record are required.
- Basic computer and internet skills are required.
- The role requires communication, customer service, problem-solving, interpersonal, dependability, professionalism, safety, and composure-under-stress capabilities.
- Diagnose, repair, and maintain customer and dealership vehicles.
- Understand and carry out repair orders as dispatched.
- Conduct full inspections, diagnosis, and troubleshooting to determine repair needs.
- Perform quality-control checks to ensure repairs are completed.
- Complete required documentation in compliance with regulations and standards.
- Maintain shop appearance and safety standards, including inventory stocking and other general shop functions.
- Follow shop policy, procedure, safety, and environmental rules.
- Maintain vehicle cleanliness while performing service or repairs.
- Communicate with Service Advisor and Parts department personnel.
- Participate in company and Ford certification training and education, staff meetings, trainings, and educational classes.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- One year of dealer-level or large-facility experience is preferred.
