Requirements
  • Research partnership development/management or tech transfer experience
  • Knowledge of intellectual property generation and management
  • Management of cross-functional relationships with R&D staff, business and legal partners
  • Ability to meet deadlines, manage conflicting priorities, and communicate effectively
Responsibilities
  • Help cultivate new and grow existing commercialization-focused research partnerships
  • Align technical scope and key terms with technical, business, and legal stakeholders
  • Support intellectual property, licenses, and related business aspects for DOE/Argonne programs, such as SBIR/STTR, IP Management Plans, academic and open-source licenses
  • Work closely with Sponsored Research Office on vetting of industry partners and approvals
  • Partner with legal and contracts to negotiate key terms in research agreements
  • Work with other Commercialization team members on identifying licensing opportunities
  • Partake in commercialization training for Argonne’s research community.
Desired Qualifications
  • Advanced degree in computer science, engineering, or related scientific fields is preferred
  • Occasional domestic travel may be required
