What Will You Do?
Bixal seeks a Health Information Systems Specialist its home office to provide support across multiple projects, primarily funded by USAID.
The ideal candidate is a solution-oriented health management information systems expert with at least 8 years of experience working on complex health databases and information systems. The incumbent will provide technical assistance to a variety of stakeholders, including USAID, host country governments, implementing partners on system architecture, governance, security, data management, and analysis.
All roles at Bixal will:
- Participate in client events and forums to positively represent the organization and develop and maintain relationships with the industry.
- As appropriate, play an active role in new client acquisition by supporting business development initiatives to enhance and grow Bixal’s business in each of the areas that it works.
Responsibilities:
- Support Bixal’s portfolio of HIS work across projects, working closely with country office staff and their stakeholders.
- Provide technical and strategic advice in subject matters relevant to global digital health and information systems, such as architecture, governance, privacy and security, data management, strategy, and interoperability standards.
- Develop capacity across Bixal’s project staff and its partners around health information systems design, digital health strategy, interoperability standards, governance, privacy and security.
- Assist with business development efforts and thought leadership within Bixal to expand its portfolio in health information systems and digital health.
Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in public health, technology, IT or a related field.
- At least 5-7 years of experience in health information systems or a related field.
- At least 2 years of experience developing and/or managing complex health information systems at country level.
- Experience building capacity to effectively use health information systems to manage programs.
- Demonstrated experience working with DHIS2, OpenMRS, LMIS, or other commonly used health information systems.
- Fluency speaking, reading and writing in English.
- Travel required 15-20% of the time.
Nice to Haves:
- An understanding of PEPFAR data systems and requirements.
