Requirements
  • At least 5 years of product management experience with hands-on experience shipping artificial intelligence features or products.
  • Experience working with enterprise resource planning and enterprise asset management systems and data platforms, including SAP and Snowflake.
  • Deep understanding of large language models, retrieval-augmented generation, fine-tuning, prompt engineering, context engineering, agentic systems, planning, tool use, human-in-the-loop controls, guardrails, and evaluation frameworks.
  • Ability to prototype artificial intelligence and agentic solutions using modern artificial intelligence tools to validate hypotheses and de-risk product decisions.
  • Experience delivering artificial intelligence products in risk-averse, highly regulated, or safety-critical enterprise environments, including leading Agentic Process Transformations.
  • Experience running evaluations for artificial intelligence systems and iterating based on results.
  • Experience defining agent behavior, including system prompts, tool schemas, and human-in-the-loop boundaries.
  • Strong client communication skills and the ability to explain artificial intelligence capabilities and limitations to non-technical executive audiences.
  • Ability to operate in ambiguous, fast-moving environments where the artificial intelligence landscape evolves rapidly.
Responsibilities
  • Own end-to-end product delivery for complex artificial intelligence and agentic artificial intelligence engagements, from discovery and hypothesis framing through phased rollout and production readiness.
  • Define and maintain artificial intelligence product roadmaps that connect agent capabilities to measurable enterprise business outcomes.
  • Lead discovery activities, including user research, stakeholder interviews, and assumption testing, while prioritizing and de-risking the riskiest hypotheses before committing to build.
  • Design and run experiments, including proof-of-concepts, pilot deployments, and scenario-based testing of multi-step agentic workflows, edge cases, and failure recovery.
  • Define agent behavior end-to-end, including system prompts, tool schemas, context management, summarization, and working-memory patterns across multi-step tasks.
  • Own and run evaluation frameworks covering task completion, reasoning quality, tool selection, failure recovery, and safety, iterating based on evidence.
  • Define agent-level success metrics, including task completion rate, cost per task, escalation rate, and time to resolution, alongside business key performance indicators.
  • Establish human-in-the-loop boundaries and guardrails, including when the agent acts autonomously, when it escalates, and how to handle non-deterministic output.
  • Use artificial intelligence tools such as Claude, Claude Code, Cursor, and GitHub Copilot to accelerate daily product work.
  • Lead stakeholder working sessions, prioritization discussions, and risk conversations with senior client stakeholders.
  • Communicate complex artificial intelligence tradeoffs, agent behavior, and product decisions to technical and non-technical executive audiences.
  • Build trusted relationships with client stakeholders and serve as a consultative partner throughout the engagement.
  • Lead prioritization decisions by balancing business value, technical feasibility, cost, latency, and delivery timelines.
  • Frame requests in terms of user and business outcomes, challenge feature-level thinking, and manage artificial intelligence hype cycles with realistic expectations.
  • Mentor junior artificial intelligence product managers on the engagement and share knowledge on evaluations, agent design, and artificial intelligence product delivery practices.
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience in a consulting or agency environment.
  • Familiarity with agent orchestration frameworks such as LangChain, LangGraph, or AWS Strands.
  • A software engineering background using Python, JavaScript, or TypeScript.
  • Experience with AWS and AWS artificial intelligence tools.
  • Exposure to industries such as mining, heavy equipment, and construction.

Robots & Pencils provides enterprise AI engineering services. It builds production-ready AI systems that companies can deploy quickly, delivering measurable business impact in weeks rather than months. The team blends advanced engineering with human-centered design, combining “robots” (AI/engineering) with “pencils” (UX and product design) to create solutions that are both technically solid and easy to use. The company works with large enterprises across sectors including Consumer Products and Retail, Education, Energy, Financial Services, Healthcare, and Manufacturing, and operates with small, senior teams instead of large consulting firms. Its delivery centers span Canada, the U.S., Eastern Europe, and Latin America, making it a nimble alternative to traditional global system integrators. The goal is to help enterprises move quickly and confidently with AI initiatives, delivering solutions that are reliable, scalable, and aligned with real business needs.

What believers are saying

  • Jansen Meyers joined July 30, 2026, to expand delivery capacity and operations.
  • Saul Delage and Brendan Flynn signal aggressive retail, strategy, and client-partner expansion.
  • AWS summits in June 2026 and AWS funding support near-term pipeline generation.

What critics are saying

  • AWS concentration dominates strategy; partner-priority changes instantly weaken Robots & Pencils' go-to-market.
  • Consulting AI work commoditizes quickly; Accenture, Cognizant, and Deloitte crush pricing by 2027.
  • If production AI deals stall, the firm becomes another boutique services vendor.

What makes Robots and Pencils unique

  • AWS Advanced Tier and Pattern Partner status gives Robots & Pencils privileged enterprise access.
  • Velocity Pods deliver generative and agentic AI from pilot to live in weeks.
  • Bellevue Studio and global delivery centers combine UX design with senior engineering talent.

Robots & Pencils appoints Jansen Meyers Senior Vice President of Operations. Jul 30, 2026, 11:11 ET New executive hire deepens the operational bench behind Robots & Pencils' AI outcomes as the company scales its next stage of high-velocity growth. CLEVELAND, July 30, 2026 /PRNewswire/ - Robots & Pencils, an applied AI engineering partner known for high-velocity delivery and measurable business outcomes, today announced Jansen Meyers as Senior Vice President of Operations. Meyers joins the executive leadership team to scale delivery capacity, sharpen operational execution, and lay the operational foundation for the company's next phase of growth. Meyers brings more than 25 years working with organizations to drive scalability. Most recently, he spent 16 years at Centric Consulting as a partner concentrated on operations, technology and transformation leadership, where he helped enterprise clients and Centric modernize operations and execute company-wide transformations. "We are focused on client outcomes and accelerating everything we do for our clients. Scaling our operations requires the same emphasis," said Nathan Carmon, Chief Operating Officer of Robots & Pencils. "Jansen simplifies the complex and designs systems that let exceptional people maintain their focus on outcomes and acceleration, not internal work and systems." In his new role, Meyers will oversee internal operations, expand delivery capacity, and engineer the operational backbone behind every Robots & Pencils engagement, the systems that let Velocity Pods take generative and agentic AI live in weeks, not quarters. His leadership will help the company scale with the same agility, craft, and client focus that have defined the company since it was founded in 2009. "Complexity is easy; efficiency is deliberate. My focus is eliminating drag, so the business moves as fast as its ideas," said Meyers. "The people here already move like they have done this before. My job is to make sure the processes and systems never get in their way." Meyers joins Robots & Pencils as more organizations turn to the company to move generative and agentic AI from pilot to live. His appointment reflects continued investment in the leadership and operational depth behind Robots & Pencils' AWS Advanced Tier Services Partner and AWS Pattern Partner status, and its record of measurable business outcomes across 175+ clients worldwide.
