ABOUT Re:Car 

Our company is developing products and services for the electric vehicle space.  Founded in early 2022, Project Re:Car spent its formative months establishing a leadership team and the product definition.

Who we are looking for:
Re:Car is looking for an energetic, organized, and experienced Body Structures Design/Release Engineer to join our growing team. The DRE will be responsible for design and development of the body structures and related mechanisms across the organization.

· Responsible for the design and development of body system components and complete assemblies.

· Develop and implement functional objectives to meet project performance targets.

· Manage all aspects of body component development to meet project requirements including performance, cost, mass, timing, manufacturability, etc.

· Lead collaboration between internal/external teams and suppliers to meet all project requirements.

What you bring to the team:

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from an ABET accredited university.

• 8+ years of vehicle design experience in the areas of Body, Door, Platform.

• Excellent communication and team building skills.

• Ability to lead design teams through integration of related sub-systems into body structure.

• Broad knowledge of NHSTA/FMVSS requirements related to body structure.

• Ability and Desire work in a fun and fast paced environment

• Manage all aspects of exterior component development to meet project requirements including performance, cost, mass, timing, manufacturability, etc.
• Lead collaboration between internal/external teams and suppliers to meet all project requirements.

What you bring to the team:

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from an ABET accredited university or equivalent.
• 8+ years of vehicle design experience in the areas of body structures and mechanisms.
• Knowledge of design considerations required; injection molding, die castings, stampings.
• Proven communication and team building skills.
• Broad knowledge of NHSTA/FMVSS requirements related to body closures.
• Ability and Desire work in a fun and fast paced environment
• Hybrid
