Requirements
  • A bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university, or qualifying additional work experience substituted for up to four years of required education.
  • One year of professional secretarial, clerical, coordinator, or administrative experience, with additional qualifying work experience substitutable on a year-for-year basis for up to four years of education.
  • Knowledge of clerical and administrative procedures and systems such as filing and record-keeping.
  • Oral and written communication skills.
  • Skill in using Microsoft Office products.
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize assignments.
  • The successful candidate must be able to obtain U.S. work authorization independently because the department will not sponsor work authorization now or in the future.
  • The successful candidate must complete employment eligibility verification by presenting documents establishing identity and work authorization as required by federal immigration law.

Responsibilities
  • Manage the administrative workflow for the Unmanned Aircraft System Research and Operations Center and provide senior-level administrative support primarily to the Director.
  • Develop a broad and comprehensive understanding of the center's mission, operations, and initiatives to oversee administrative functions and represent the center when interacting with the university, industry members, government officials, and the general public.
  • Manage and direct the administrative effort at the center, including internships, while coordinating and closely interacting with center leadership and colleagues from the University of Maryland College Park, the MATRIX Lab, and the University System of Maryland Southern Maryland campus.
  • Serve as the on-site resource for the center's business and financial processes.
  • Manage and pay purchase orders and manage the center's purchasing card.
  • Coordinate financial entries required to support Workday monthly reconciliations and projections.
