Summary: The Senior Software Engineer will be responsible for crafting, developing, and maintaining sophisticated Java applications. The ideal candidate must have a deep understanding of modern application development, cloud architectures, automated testing, and container technologies. In this role, you will be an integral part of a team focused on delivering innovative solutions for clients in the financial industry. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure the scalability, performance, and reliability of our applications, while contributing to the overall technical strategy and continuous improvement of the development process.

This role is hybrid that will work onsite 2 days per week at one of our locations: Chicago, Philadelphia or Dallas metro areas. Occasional travel may be required as part of this role.

Responsibilities:

Design, develop, and maintain sophisticated Java applications.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and solve complex software problems.
Build and maintain technical documentation related to software design and development.
Participate in code reviews and provide constructive feedback to team members.
Develop and maintain automated testing scripts to ensure high-quality software delivery.
Implement modern cloud architectures such as microservices, serverless, and containerization.
Develop, deploy and maintain applications in lower environments and in Production.
Work with containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.
Develop RESTful APIs using Spring Boot.
Mentor and coach junior developers.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
5+ years of experience as a Java Developer.
Experience in Java 8 and above.
Extensive experience with Java frameworks such as Spring, Spring Boot, JPA, and Hibernate.
Experience with Microsoft SQL Server or other relational database systems, and stored procedures.
Familiarity with Java build tools such as Maven and/ or Gradle and DevOps CI/CD tools.
Strong understanding of J2EE concepts
Expertise in RESTful architecture
Experience with automated testing frameworks such as JUnit and Playwright.
Experience with modern cloud architectures such as microservices, serverless, and containerization.
Experience with containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.
Familiarity with Azure, AWS, or other cloud providers.
Strong understanding of software design patterns and principles.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication skills with the ability to articulate sophisticated technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
Ability to mentor and coach junior developers.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with Agile development methodologies
Experience with front-end development technologies such as Angular or React
Experience presenting technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.

The base salary range for this position is budgeted for $140,220to $171,000 with eligibility for an annual bonus. The actual base salary offered depends on a variety of factors, including but not limited to the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of proven experience, specific and unique skills, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, business needs, and market demand.
