  • Bachelor’s Degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) discipline
  • 5+ years (level 3) or 8+ years (level 4) of Human Space Flight hardware and operations experience
  • Proficiency delivering technical solutions/contributions to the completion of project milestones under minimal supervision, within schedule and budget and with presenting findings to customers and contractors at major milestone meetings
  • Significant experience with Systems Engineering processes, engineering lifecycle, technical readiness levels, and technical evaluation with objective and subjective supportive data
  • U.S. citizen
  • Experience with at least two of the following: Human space flight operations, Familiarity with Human System standards and specifications (MIL-STD 1472, NASA-STD 3001/3001), Requirement management from development through verification closure for human rated vehicles, Human-centered Task and Error Analyses, Anthropometric, Crew Loads, or Worksite Analysis, User workload, cognitive assessments
Responsibilities
  • Responsible for human factors engineering and supporting Human Systems Integration (HSI) engineering activities
  • Serve as a key member of the HSI team for the Habitation and Logistics Outpost (HALO) Program and other Human Exploration Programs
  • Contribute to all HSI efforts on HALO including but not limited to; requirements engineering, technical planning, system engineering and integration, verification and validation, cost and risk assessments, and supportability/effectiveness analyses for total systems
  • Ensure the logical and systematic conversion of customer or product requirements into total systems solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule, and cost constraints
  • Directly contribute to Task and Human Error Analyses, Human-in-the-Loop (HITL) test planning/execution/reporting, worksite analysis, anthropometric analysis, crew operating loads analysis, and requirements allocation/interface definition studies to translate customer requirements into hardware and software specifications
  • Support all HALO HSI and HFE related deliverables, HITL oversight, and sub-contractor interaction to ensure successful crew interface design that reduces human error
  • Regular interaction with customer counterparts, system users, and different sub-system engineering disciplines to ensure user needs are represented in product design while meeting necessary requirements
