Position Overview
We are now looking for undergraduates who have the talent and ambition to become skilled Technology Consultants or Digital Factory Specialists. During your 11-week placement with us, you will be challenged and provided opportunity to grow your knowledge and develop valuable experience as part of an experienced technical team within Autodesk.
As part of an established leader in Architecture, Engineering and Construction and one of the fastest-growing companies in the CADCAM industry, you will work alongside a diverse team of experienced engineers on challenging industry focused projects. As your skills develop, you will be expected to learn, understand, and use Autodesk software to help create a real-world Digital Twin model for the manufacturing world.

Responsibilities
- Work on a live Digital Twin model of our Birmingham office and Technology Centre using Autodesk Tandem and Autodesk Tandem Connect
- Research and implement ‘off-the-shelf’ IOT sensors
- Process real-time data from manufacturing equipment and IOT sensors and prepare this data to be ingested by the Digital Twin model
- Collaborate and liaise with a diverse manufacturing team and other stakeholders across Autodesk
Minimum Qualifications
- 120 UCAS points (2017 UCAS tariff scale) and predicated 1st or 2i degree
The Ideal Candidate
- We are looking for bright Computer Science, Mechanical, Aerospace, Product Design Engineering (or similar) students for our eleven-week summer internships starting summer 2025
- An appreciation of the uses and capabilities of manufacturing equipment such as CNC machines, polymer 3D printers and metal additive machines
- An interest in programming and scripting with experience in at least two of: JavaScript / NodeJS, Node-RED, Python, using third-party APIs, Postman, Git & Github, Windows & Linux command line, Dashboards / Power BI
- Some computer networking experience. Wired and wireless networking, MAC addresses, IP addressing (IP address ranges, subnet masks and CIDR)
- Experience with MQTT, OPC-UA, MTConnect are a plus
- Experience with CAD/CAM software (e.g. Autodesk Fusion or similar), BIM Software (e.g. Autodesk Revit), Discrete Event Simulation software (e.g. Autodesk FlexSim), Building Management Systems or design and manufacturing industries are a plus
