Requirements
  • A Bachelor of Science degree in a related field is required.
  • Five to seven years of progressive experience with material or production control planning responsibilities is required.
  • Experience with a material requirements planning system and inventory control is required.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs, including Outlook, Excel, and Word, is required.
Responsibilities
  • Perform production planning for assigned products.
  • Create and maintain production schedules.
  • Create and manage shop orders.
  • Work with Manufacturing to achieve the best efficiency.
  • Work with customer service for assigned sections and product lines.
  • Receive and confirm customer orders, review forecast accuracy, negotiate alternate ship dates and quantities when required, and enter manual orders as needed.
  • Manage and maintain customer setup information in the material requirements planning system and shared documents for assigned areas.
  • Monitor the back-order report, review stock levels and the next purchase requisition run, coordinate schedule changes with planners when required, reduce backorders, and expedite costs.
  • Negotiate and resolve customer disputes regarding shipping timing and freight methods or expenses, collaborating with SVW and third-party warehouses.
  • Assess stock levels and expedite orders with added fees for special shipping requests.
  • Coordinate shipments with sister plants and inspection locations to SVW.
  • Coordinate replacement parts and quality-assurance recalls with customers and internal quality assurance and shipping teams.
  • Coordinate trial and sample orders and deliveries with Engineering and Quality groups.
  • Follow up on PPAP approvals with customers and internal quality assurance to ship parts expeditiously, and collaborate with supplier quality assurance on quality issues to release parts for shipping.
  • Work with Sales groups and customers daily to meet SEWS and customer delivery goals and targets.
  • Cross-train in other Production Control Associate areas in planning and customer service to provide support during peak periods and absences.
  • Set up the customer and SEWS cross-reference product list.
  • Work with Production Control, Manufacturing, Business Planning, Quality, Engineering, Maintenance, and Shipping departments to meet goals and targets.
  • Perform other duties and assignments as requested by management.
