Requirements
  • 10+ years of managing a Corporate or Museum archive experience.
  • M.A. or M.L.I.S. in Archives, Library Science, Museum Studies, or related field with formal training in archives management and preservation or commensurate experience.
  • Experience and training in records management.
  • Experience with professional archives management software.
  • Knowledge of archives preservation requirements, storage needs and registration procedures for archives.
  • Up-to-date knowledge of professional standards and trends.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate, orally and in writing, with staff, vendors and clients.
  • Ability to work independently, as well as part of a team.
Responsibilities
  • Manage the day-to-day operations of the Morgan Stanley Historical Archive.
  • Establish policies for acquiring and appraising content.
  • Create clear processes for collection development.
  • Expand use of the archival collection through engaging with employees on corporate history, heritage and culture.
  • Utilize a digital archival program for born digital and present-day content.
  • Manage archive vendors relationships.
  • Develop a strategy for Firm's marquee anniversaries.
  • Work closely with the internal communications leads and press officers in each region to ensure that historical content is being captured globally.
