Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Library and Information Science, or a related field
  • Minimum 3-5 years of relevant experience in records and information management and technical skills, including records management systems, imaging and emerging technologies
  • Active Secret security clearance
  • Strong communication skills, including both written and verbal
  • Excellent customer service skills, including ability to anticipate needs and multi-task
  • Strong computer skills
Responsibilities
  • Managing record storage systems: Overseeing both physical and electronic records management systems (ERMS) or content management systems (CMS) to ensure efficient storage and retrieval
  • Assisting with the implementation and management of automated record keeping systems
  • Electronic Records Management System: Managing, organizing, and ensuring the accuracy of metadata for digital content, databases, or other assets
  • Tagging, categorizing, and maintaining metadata standards to improve searchability and data integrity
  • Developing and implementing efficient recordkeeping systems
  • Enhancing metadata to improve accuracy, completeness, and usefulness, including adding and optimizing keywords and linking related items
  • Conducting needs assessments for document management requirements
  • Ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory requirements
  • Creating and maintaining documentation for metadata and recordkeeping processes
  • Training colleagues on metadata best practices
  • Records Management: Support the Records Team, ensuring compliance with the Federal Records Management Act, statutes, regulations, and policies, including CFR, USC, and NARA mandates
  • Provide records management support including implementing, maintaining, and auditing file plans
  • Support and help implement Division’s governance policy and processes
  • Draft and maintain policies, plans, and procedures for records management tasks
  • Establishes communication with cross-functional teams across the organization and assures that information and documentation is readily accessible
  • Receive, verify, and prepare documents for scanning
  • Assist with creating file plans for agency divisions
  • Assist with developing and maintaining Records Control Schedules (RCS)
  • Analyze work processes, methodologies and techniques used by agency’s records management and provide recommendations for improvement
  • Performs other duties as assigned
  • Creating and managing metadata schemas
  • Developing standardized approaches to tagging records with descriptive information
  • Training staff: Educating employees on using related records tools and systems. sites.
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience working within a government or highly regulated environment is preferred
  • Experience with Microsoft Purview and ZL Technologies applications are preferred
  • Relevant certifications such as Certified Information Professional (CIP), Information Governance Professional (IGP), or similar are desirable but not mandatory
  • National Archives and Records Administration (NARA) Federal records management training is desired
