Requirements
  • A minimum of a two-year college electrical degree or equivalent electrical experience.
  • Knowledge of electrical, electronics, instrumentation, or controls.
  • Relevant oil and gas experience or industrial experience in a plant environment.
  • Competency in rigging, interpreting technical reference documents, and using precision measuring tools.
  • A valid driver's license and safe driving record.
  • Successful completion of pre-employment medical screening, including drug and alcohol testing.
  • Availability to carry a cell phone and work a rotating on-call schedule.
  • Ability to work extended days or weeks for emergency response purposes.
  • Ability to work in adverse weather and temperatures, perform heavy lifting, work in cramped conditions, and climb and work on compressor buildings.
Responsibilities
  • Perform installation, testing, repair, and maintenance on compressor station equipment, pipeline facilities, metering and regulating equipment, communication systems, and other facilities related to the pipeline system.
  • Perform routine and major maintenance on gas turbine packages, gas compressor units, and associated auxiliary equipment.
  • Perform service and repair on mechanical measurement or control equipment such as meters, regulators, and valves.
  • Maintain power and electrical process controls, including hazardous-area equipment, programmable logic controllers, electric generation equipment, and microwave multiplex equipment.
  • Perform administrative, clerical, and warehousing activities.
  • Complete work orders, enter data into job plans, and create new work orders in SAP.
  • Occasionally travel to other company locations for temporary assignments, meetings, or training, including overnight stays away from home.

Qube secures funding from TC Energy and NGIF to scale emissions monitoring tech across oil, gas, and biogas sectors

Qube Technologies, a Calgary-based emissions monitoring company, has closed a funding round led by existing investor TC Energy, with participation from NGIF Capital and other strategic investors. The capital will support deployment of Qube's expanded product portfolio across multiple industries. The funding follows record revenue growth in 2025, during which Qube expanded beyond oil and gas into biogas, landfill and mining sectors. The company achieved regulatory validation from the US Environmental Protection Agency and became the first continuous monitoring dataset accepted for Level 5 OGMP reporting. Qube recently launched two new products: Qube Lite, a cost-effective fenceline technology for source-level deployment, and Qube Camera, providing real-time visual confirmation and leak localisation. Both have seen immediate high-volume demand from operators seeking to reduce manual site inspections whilst managing emissions.
