Requirements
  • Graduation from an accredited school of radiologic technology
  • Minimum 1 year of experience working independently in radiology
  • Must be registered with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)
  • Licensure from the South Carolina Radiation Quality Standards Association is required
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) required, either a certification from an American Heart Association (AHA) BLS for Healthcare Providers (or AHA recognized equivalent) or an American Red Cross CPR/AED for Professional Rescuer and Healthcare Provider
  • Proactively maintains and renews ARRT, state license, BLS, PPD, respirator fit test, and POC training
  • Must be able to function effectively in a team-oriented environment
  • Must be familiar with age specific criteria
Responsibilities
  • Assist physicians with image guided minimally invasive procedures in the diagnosis and treatment of disease
  • Provide the highest quality of care
  • Maintain sterile technique
  • Operation of equipment
  • Quality assurance of imaging
  • Compassionate patient care
  • Work alongside the Interventional Radiologist and RN to assist in the performance of diagnostic angiographic procedures as well as complex vascular and nonvascular interventional and therapeutic procedures
  • Obtain all equipment needed for a procedure
  • Positioning and imaging patients
  • Resolve equipment issues
  • Demonstrate knowledge of human anatomy, radiation safety, interventional supplies, and equipment operation to include fluoroscopy, US, and ancillary therapeutic devices
  • Prepare, administer, and document contrast given throughout procedure
  • Corroborate a patient's clinical history with procedure and ensure information documented and available for use by clinician
  • Provide good communication, patient assessment, and patient monitoring
  • Responsible for post processing digital data for display or hard copy records, ensuring technical quality and proper identification is evident
  • Periodic weekend and off hour call will be required
