Requirements
  • A bachelor's degree in an information technology-related field is required, although equivalent experience may be substituted.
  • At least 5 years of information technology or audio-visual-related work experience is required.
  • At least 2 years of leadership experience leading technical teams is required.
  • Experience engineering and integrating enterprise video conferencing and unified communication platforms and hardware, including Cisco Webex, Zoom, Microsoft Teams, SIP, H.323, Cisco Webex Control Hub, Cisco endpoints, VCS, VCS Expressways, CUCM, and video encoders.
  • Experience owning escalations and managing enterprise video conference solutions.
  • Knowledge of enterprise networking standards and practices.
  • Ability to manage business-critical infrastructure operations and ensure high reliability.
  • Experience managing engineering and operations teams.
  • Knowledge of vendor and project management.
  • Ability to troubleshoot, install, and upgrade conference-room audio-visual technology.
  • Strong vendor management skills across nursing, audio-visual, information technology, and telecommunications environments.
  • Ability to travel occasionally for remote work and business requirements.
  • Ability to sit for prolonged periods at a desk and work on a computer.

Responsibilities
  • Lead the nationwide strategy for real-time video communications, audio-visual technology, the Cisco Webex platform, and conference-room functions across WGU spaces.
  • Lead the team responsible for technology functions in WGU Nursing Simulation Labs across the country.
  • Define support processes aligned with information technology, operations, and nursing needs; integrate ITIL practices; and manage the technology lifecycle.
  • Manage engineers and technicians through vision, technical execution, and operational leadership.
  • Develop and facilitate relationships with internal information technology teams, building engineers, strategic partners, and vendors to execute requirements from leadership and customers.
  • Act as Product Manager for technologies supporting staff and student success.
  • Design, engineer, and manage video-conferencing applications and systems, including endpoints and audio-visual infrastructure.
  • Lead the Nursing Simulation Labs team in operating technology elements, providing monitoring and support, and developing audio-visual solutions.
  • Work with facilities on the design and planning of collaboration spaces and integrated physical technology in workspaces.
  • Manage project execution, including design, quotes, vendors, installation, quality assurance, and training.
  • Represent technology costs and timelines for upgrades, remodels, and new construction projects.
  • Design technology standards for remote sites, room types, interfaces, and systems to ensure consistent operations.
  • Build training resources for employee groups and monitor user feedback.
  • Work with management, technology, and facilities teams to align technology with future roadmaps and business needs.
  • Manage external partner and vendor relationships.
  • Explore new technology to improve student and employee collaboration and workspace/building technology.
  • Ensure quality platforms for high-visibility events, including executive meetings, All Hands broadcasts, and Commencement livestreaming.
  • Maintain subject-matter expertise to guide adoption and maximize the value of collaboration experiences.
  • Plan and maintain operational budgets.
  • Implement operating plans and provide operational metrics.
  • Assign and distribute work, prepare budget data, identify service improvements, apply job-area policies, ensure compliance with university policies, and communicate effectively with staff and leadership.
  • Ensure proper training of team members and participate in hiring, firing, promotion, and salary-review decisions.
  • Conduct performance reviews.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Desired Qualifications
  • Cisco CCNP Collaboration certification.
  • ITIL practical experience and certifications.
