What will you do?

A day in the life of a Senior Mobile Device Management (MDM) Engineer/Analyst at VF looks a little like this.

Mobility and mobile device use remain at the forefront of digital transformation, especially in a retail store setting.  Protecting the information being stored, processed and/or transmitted in a highly connected and mobile environment requires new ways of thinking. As an MDM Engineer and Analyst, you’ll be exposed to the latest business transformation efforts and on the leading edge of technology deployments. Change occurs at business speed and it’s the MDM Engineer’s responsibility to ensure our Mobile Device Management capabilities and architectures maintain pace and deliver the consumer experiences needed to keep VF competitive in a highly competitive market. As a critical member of the MDM team, you are responsible for bringing the “art of the possible” to fruition in a safe and secure manner.  

Let’s break down that day-in-the-life a bit more:  

• By securing devices, applications, processes and data required to deliver next generation consumer experiences within a retail store setting, you will instill consumer and corporate confidence that VF delivers innovative and secure experiences that will allow us to remain competitive, meet our financial commitments and comply with emerging regulatory requirements.

• By acting as a primary support contact for VF’s Mobile Device Management practice, you will ensure service delivery is consistent and responsive to our business/consumer’s needs.

• By conducting research and evaluating new MDM capabilities and technologies, you will ensure VF leverages innovation and develops roadmaps to ensure the practice evolves and adapts to business, consumer and technology changes in the ecosystem.

• As an Administration of Mobile Device Management (MDM) architecture, you will ensure the MDM architecture meets the needs of a global, multi-brand company encompassing 1,000+ retail stores and 4,500+ devices.

• By developing, implementing and enforcing device configuration, profile creation, and deployment standards, you will secure all devices, apps and data consistently on a global basis.
• By developing and supporting Mobile Device compatibility testing and evaluation processes, you will ensure new mobile devices and apps released by the manufacturers targeting consumers can be properly managed and supported.

What do you need to succeed?

Additionally, while formal education in a related field is great to have, we are most interested in your 5-10 years of experience and professional achievements. 

Years of Related Professional Experience: 5-10 Years

• 5-10 years of combined IT and security work experience, with a broad exposure to infrastructure/network and multiplatform environments.
• 1+ years experience with Jamf
• Expert knowledge of mobile device management technologies and platforms (AirWatch preferred) with focus on policy creation/enforcement, device registration and enrollment, enterprise app store management and maintenance of the MDM platform.

• Deep knowledge of Apple enterprise technology including DEP, VPP distribution methods, Apple Business Manager, APNS, iOS, MacOS, and profile management.
• Familiarity with Apple B2B, ACE configurations, version control, AirWatch SDK, and app signing
• A foundational knowledge of information security related standards like PCI and GDPR.
• Deep understanding of single and multi-user staging configurations to support widespread deployment of devices and applications.

• Must be able to develop authentication/Access standards which requires experience with Microsoft enterprise technology including Active Directory, Exchange, and Active-Sync.

• Mobile Device Network Connectivity experience required to ensure mobile device configurations support business needs. Ability to assess and resolve network and wi-fi configurations in a global MDM   environment is essential.

• Thorough understanding of MDM restriction profiles, VMWare Browser configuration and MDM security baselines.

• Knowledge and experience with escalating issues for rapid resolution through vendors, third parties, and other parts of GBT.

• Experience with iOS Development Certificates and Provisioning profile management.

• Ability to implement new technologies in partnership with other parts of GBT organization.

• Familiar with Cisco ISE, Meraki, Microsoft Intune, Conditional Access, Azure, Active Directory, Jamf, Zoom Conferencing and SCCM.

Educational/ Position Requirements:  

• A bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, information systems or other related field; or equivalent work experience.
• Experience working in Retail Store environments with an understanding of wireless networks, mobile app deployment, and retail point of sales systems.
• Strong understanding of wireless technology (end point devices, firewalls) and retail operating environments (Point-of-Sale Systems, eCommerce systems).
• Strong technology knowledge and hands-on experience with mobile technologies and platforms (iPad, iPhone, Android etc.).
• Expert level knowledge and experience with mobile device management platforms (i.e. AirWatch, InTune, Iron Mountain) with a preference on AirWatch.
• Professional security management certification, such as a Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), Certified Information Security Manager (CISM), Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA) or other similar credentials, is desired.

Special Physical and/or Mental Requirements:  

• Some travel may be required

Hiring Range:

Incentive Potential: This position is eligible for additional compensation awards that may include an annual incentive plan, sales incentive, or commission potential. Specific details of the additional compensation eligibility for this position will be provided during the recruiting and interview process.
