Requirements
  • Previous experience as a Healthcare Assistant, Healthcare Technician, or similar is required.
  • At least 1 year's experience in a hospital, clinic, theatre, outpatient, or healthcare setting is required.
  • Basic Life Support competency is required.
  • Good information technology and communication skills are required.
  • The candidate must have a caring, organised, and professional approach.
  • The candidate must be flexible to work bank shifts when required.
Responsibilities
  • Support the delivery of high-quality patient care throughout the patient journey.
  • Carry out or assist with ophthalmic diagnostic tests such as optical coherence tomography, visual fields, visual acuity, intraocular pressure, and biometry.
  • Support patients before and after procedures.
  • Assist clinical teams with room preparation, equipment, and documentation.
  • Maintain accurate patient records.
  • Follow infection prevention, safety, and clinical governance procedures.
  • Provide a calm, professional, and caring experience for patients.
Desired Qualifications
  • Ophthalmology experience would be an advantage but is not essential.
