Requirements
  • Experience working in a fast-paced product development environment
  • A suitable qualification in Mechanical Engineering such as HND or BSc/BEng
  • Experience working in a Test Laboratory using: vibration, shock, thermal cycling, salt mist/corrosion, water ingress protection, humidity, drop testing, measurement techniques
  • Good problem-solving skills coupled with a sound fundamental knowledge of engineering principles
  • Physical assembly and testing of designs
  • Knowledge of mass production processes such as injection moulding and die-casting
  • Excellent collaboration and communication skills
  • Strong time management and organizational skills
  • Willing to work with the team on-site 5 days a week
  • Fluent in English, both verbal and written
Responsibilities
  • To oversee the daily operations of the Environmental Test Laboratory, ensuring all equipment is maintained and used safely
  • Managing the materials inventory and equipment, ensuring availability and proper storage
  • Maintain health and safety standards for a safe working environment
  • Arranging training for other Environmental Test Lab users and promoting best practices
  • Developing the necessary skills and tools to simulate the extreme environments Raymarine products face, to ensure that they are robust and remain safe and fit for purpose
  • Understanding environmental test standards including IEC60945, IEC62368, ISO17025, DEF STAN 00-035, MIL STD 810, STANAG 4370, AECTP 300 & AECTP 400
  • Work from customer test requirements and turn them into a viable test strategy
  • Document reviews, data processing and reporting in line with customer specifications and Raymarine’s standards
