Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or a closely related field is required
  • 5-8 years of relatable experience to the qualifications of this position
  • Competent skills in Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint. Prefer SAP & Benchmark ESG knowledge
  • Automated manufacturing experience in high volume facility
  • Experience with ANSI, UL, NFPA, ISO and other applicable standards
  • Experience interpreting electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic safety circuits and evaluating performance level & circuit structure
  • Ability to analyze and evaluate pertinent federal, state, and local laws, codes, and regulations
  • Working knowledge of equipment maintenance, inspection, and testing requirements per state requirements and best practice guidance (API, ASME, ASTM standards)
  • Working knowledge of hazardous area classifications, occupancy classification, hazardous material inventories
  • Must be self-motivated with great communication skills
  • In the performance of the duties of this job, the employee is required to travel, drive a motor vehicle
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms, and talk or hear
  • The employee is occasionally required to walk, climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl
  • The employee must frequently lift and move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and the ability to adjust focus
Responsibilities
  • Work with engineering, operations and equipment vendors for design and commissioning activities
  • Develop equipment safety standards where needed and continuously improve existing standards
  • Complete Risk Assessments in accordance with ISO 12100 and Rivian standards
  • Identify opportunities and suggest corrective actions for continuous improvement
  • Create and deliver training related to equipment and machinery safety
  • Work with department EHS staff to support shop as needed
  • Participate in learning teams, investigations, inspections, audits, etc. as needed
  • Develop content for employee engagement on safety topics
