Requirements
  • Must be able to pass a Criminal Justice Information Services background check.
  • One to two years of desktop and network troubleshooting experience across multiple platforms, various printers, and Voice over Internet Protocol phones.
  • One to two years of experience installing and troubleshooting Microsoft Windows 10/11 and Microsoft Office suite.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with co-workers and clients verbally and through written communication.
  • Ability to work effectively without constant supervision and as a team player.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions quickly.
  • Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies and industry best practices.
  • Excellent time management skills.
  • Ability to multitask many requests in an organized and timely manner.
  • Must be able to balance and prioritize requests from multiple people.
  • Must be able to lift, carry, and move up to 50 pounds and work while standing, bending, kneeling, reaching, in confined spaces, or on ladders as needed.
  • May need to work evening or weekend hours.
  • Must be able to complete the federal Employment Eligibility Verification I-9 form and present acceptable original documents proving identity and authorization to work in the United States.
Responsibilities
  • Provide professional onsite end-user technical support and work with other Support Services team members to prevent or resolve technical issues across multiple locations.
  • Provide in-person and remote support to TSTC campuses, including high-touch care for prominent clients who require quick response.
  • Provide configuration guidelines for Windows personal computers, tablets, and Mac systems, and perform break/fix repairs for select clients.
  • Fix broken hardware components such as hard drives, motherboards, or screens.
  • Diagnose and resolve software conflicts, application errors, and operating system problems.
  • Assist in recovering lost or deleted data.
  • Remove viruses and malware and help prevent future infections.
  • Provide technical assistance remotely via phone, email, or remote access software.
  • Guide end-users through troubleshooting procedures to restore services.
  • Escalate problems and requests as necessary to ensure a positive resolution.
  • Coordinate with supporting teams to ensure proper hand-off, escalation, and closure of support tickets.
  • Install, upgrade, and maintain personal computer desktop systems, software, and peripherals.
  • Develop increasing proficiency in hardware, software, networking, and other technologies supported by TSTC.
  • Track and record activities, including symptom and solution history, hours, equipment and supplies, and mileage.
  • Assist clients with operating office equipment, including computers, printers, scanners, and phones.
  • Help clients learn to submit support requests through a web-based user interface and access knowledge base systems.
  • Contribute input to knowledge base articles related to troubleshooting and support of the client environment.
  • Provide on-call support as needed.
  • Perform installation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of information technology equipment.
  • Install and maintain cabling and hardware in various environments while safely handling tools and equipment.
Desired Qualifications
  • An Associate degree in Information Technology is preferred.
  • CompTIA A+, CompTIA Network+, or ITIL Foundations certification is a plus.
