- Bachelor’s degree in biological sciences.
- Minimum 3 years laboratory experience in academic, industry, or hospital setting.
- Excellent tissue handling techniques.
- Experience with routine histology, special stains, and immunohistochemistry
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent interpersonal skills.
- Perform routine and specialized histotechnology-based assays on cells and tissues.
- Harvesting, fixing, trimming, processing, embedding, sectioning, staining and coverslipping.
- Histotechnology will include working with frozen and fixed tissues using both histochemical and immunohistochemical methods.
- Work will involve robotic instrumentation.
- Follow procedures according to established SOPs and other department guidelines.
- Perform data entry, sample accessioning and sample tracking.
- Responsible for documentation necessary for Quality Control, Preventive Maintenance and assay validation.
- General laboratory duties duties that may include instrument routine cleaning and maintenance, lab reagent inventories.
