Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • 7+ years of experience in IT infrastructure management, with strong hands-on expertise in network architecture, server management, and cloud infrastructure.
  • Expertise in configuring and managing firewalls, switches, and other network devices.
  • Strong experience with virtualization technologies (proxmox an asset) and cloud platforms.
  • Proven experience in designing and implementing secure, scalable IT infrastructures in a manufacturing or industrial environment is highly desirable.
  • Strong knowledge of cybersecurity principles and data protection practices, including firewalls, intrusion detection systems, and disaster recovery strategies.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex infrastructure issues.
  • Strong project management skills, with the ability to lead or contribute to multiple infrastructure projects simultaneously.
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work cross-functionally and support other departments.
  • Strong knowledge of Linux.
Responsibilities
  • Design, implement, and manage SRTX’s IT infrastructure, including servers, networks, storage solutions, and cloud environments.
  • Ensure the infrastructure is secure, reliable, and scalable to meet the company’s growing needs.
  • Lead the deployment and configuration of network components (pfsense and Unifi equipment) and manage virtualized environments with Proxmox.
  • Monitor system performance and troubleshoot issues as needed to maintain optimal uptime and efficiency.
  • Manage the cloud infrastructure in GCP, to ensure seamless integration with on-premise systems.
  • Oversee the virtualization of servers and storage solutions to enhance system performance and flexibility.
  • Evaluate and implement best practices for hybrid cloud environments, ensuring the infrastructure supports the company's manufacturing and automation objectives.
  • Ensure that all IT systems are secure, with up-to-date firewall, antivirus, and intrusion detection systems in place.
  • Implement, test, and maintain disaster recovery plans and backup strategies to safeguard data and minimize downtime in the event of system failures.
  • Proactively identify and address vulnerabilities in the network and server environments to mitigate security risks.
  • Work closely with other departments, including the automation and production teams, to ensure that IT infrastructure supports critical business operations.
  • Collaborate with third-party vendors and service providers to implement new technologies, troubleshoot issues, and perform upgrades or patches as necessary.
  • Provide advanced technical support for complex issues, serving as an escalation point for IT team members.
  • Assist the Director of IT in developing and executing long-term infrastructure strategies that align with the company’s overall technology and business goals.
  • Evaluate emerging technologies and provide recommendations to enhance the company’s infrastructure capabilities.
  • Lead or contribute to infrastructure projects, from planning and design to implementation and maintenance.
  • Maintain detailed documentation of the IT infrastructure, including network diagrams, server configurations, and security protocols.
  • Ensure compliance with all industry standards, regulatory requirements, and internal IT policies.
