Role and Responsibilities
The Director, PC Product Category Management will report to the Vice President of Product Management and will be responsible for cross-functional category management for all of SEA’s PC product lines. The position focuses on sales channel expansion, demand forecasting, marketing programs, promotional programs, pricing, smartphone portfolio data analysis, supply chain optimization, retail presence continuous improvement (online and in-store), competitor tracking and gap closure, and the corresponding attainment of the assigned sales goals, profit goals, and the various brand and market share objectives.
Role and Responsibilities:
- Responsible for achieving business goals: sales volume, revenue, profit, market share, price positioning, forecast accuracy, aged inventory, channel expansion, etc.
- Manage the lifecycle of full SEA PC portfolio with comprehensive simulations.
- Evaluate and forecast the impact of price changes including profitability, sales volume, cannibalization, price protection, etc. and drive to implementation with sales channels and global counterparts.
- Work with SEA retail and channels team to continuously optimize the portfolio of PCs ranged in each store across sales channels (National Retailers, etc.)
- Evaluate competitiveness in various retail channels and lead improvement opportunities
- Collaborate with channel sales teams to expand ranging of key Samsung PC devices
- Review sales promotion proposals and forecast incremental sales forecasts, profitability, and rate of return on promotional spending.
- Create comprehensive guidelines for promotional spending across all sales channels using historical promotion data and manage implementation.
- Manage promotional budget and allocation, evaluating potential innovative promotions to receive funding. Additionally, create innovative national or channel-specific promotions and manage their execution.
- Develop team into a center of excellence for promotional best practices to be implemented across SEA sales teams.
- Track the profitability of all Samsung PC’s across all sales channels and provide recommendations for improvement.
- Forecast sales across categories and sales channels. Collaborate with sales channels and SEA supply chain team on weekly demand loading to eliminate potential stock-outs and minimize inventory.
- Resolve issues of high channel inventory and manufacturing parts exposure through collaboration with channel sales teams.
- Provide comprehensive portfolio analytics including sales volume, revenue, market share, device mix, cannibalization, demographics, sources of volume, etc.
- Collaborate with SEA marketing and PR teams to generate consumer awareness and excitement across sales channels and PC categories.
- Strong relationship building along with the ability to work across various internal groups

- Ability to build and manage a high-performing team.
Skills and Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
- 10+ years of experience in progressive business strategy and product/category management
- 10+ years managing high-performing teams in a fast-paced environment
- A minimum bachelor’s degree in marketing, engineering, or related discipline is required. An MBA degree is strongly preferred.
- Solid knowledge of PC industry and products
- Strong presentation experience: Written, Verbal, and PowerPoint
- Keen understanding of PC category sales channels and market dynamics
- The ability to develop and maintain excellent working relationships with all appropriate levels within and outside the company.
- Experience evaluating and developing promotional programs for consumer electronics.
- Proven success in a highly dynamic, deadline-driven environment.
- Proven ability to build and develop a high-performing product-focused team.
- Extensive data analysis skills with demonstrated visualization development
- Should have advanced MS Excel and MS PowerPoint knowledge and skills.
- The most important thing is strong communication, both written (PPT presentations) and oral skills.
- The ability to work independently or in a team environment to achieve personal and team project goals, including completing assignments within and exceeding established time frames.
