SMX is seeking a skilled Computer Hardware Engineer to be part of our Information Technology Team supporting NAWCAD at Patuxent River, MD. The position tasking includes performing programmatic or technical leadership roles to formulate, design and/or test practical solutions to engineering problems and guide the engineering development of systems.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Identify, formulate, design and/or test practical solutions to engineering problems
- Guide the engineering development of modern complex systems
- Develop advanced complex systems
- Conduct research in applied systems
- Research, design, develop, test computer or computer related equipment
- May supervise the manufacturing and installing computer or computer related equipment
Required Skills:
- Clearance Required: Top Secret/SCI eligible. Secret to start. The applicant selected may be subject to a security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.
- Associate degree in a relevant engineering discipline
- Project management experience
- Must be able to interact with peers, management, and senior engineers in a constantly evolving environment to ensure a positive customer experience and atmosphere in the workplace.
- 3+ years of related experience required.
- DoD 8570 compliant (IAT Level 2) (Examples of minimum acceptable certifications-CCNA Security, CySA+, G SEC, Security+ CE, SSCP)
Desired Skills:
- Past DoD IT system engineering experience
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline
