Requirements
  • A minimum of 8 years of experience in industrial and commercial construction projects.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in a leadership role overseeing mechanical craft trades.
  • Experience with HCSS Heavy Job or a similar job-costing program.
  • Experience with P6 or similar scheduling software.
  • Experience with Viewpoint or similar accounting software.
  • Experience with Heavy Bid or similar estimating software.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office products.
  • Completion of OSHA or equivalent safety training.
  • Ability to travel at least 75% of the time.
  • A valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • Ability to work outdoors, in extreme temperatures, mining environments, confined spaces, limited working surfaces, high-noise areas, intense odors, and areas with limited visibility.
  • Ability to climb stairs and ladders, enter and exit trenches, and access elevated platforms and scaffolding.
  • Ability to lift equipment and materials weighing 1 to 50 pounds for required tasks.
  • Ability to walk on uneven terrain for an average of two miles per day and to stand, sit, stoop, crawl, and kneel.
  • Ability to use a respirator if the position requires it.
  • If driving is required, a valid driver's license and proof of insurability are required; drivers are subject to a Department of Motor Vehicles records search.
Responsibilities
  • Plan, schedule, and manage industrial mechanical construction projects up to $10 million in value.
  • Assist the Project Manager in coordinating employees engaged in the construction process using knowledge of equipment, techniques, procedures, and specifications.
  • Review project schedules with superintendents and foremen and ensure critical activities and decisions remain on schedule.
  • Oversee field-specific activities for industrial construction projects from setup through closeout across energy, power, mining, manufacturing, and pharmaceutical industries.
  • Document project field issues affecting budget, quality, or schedule and provide them to the project management team.
  • Respond to subcontractor requests concerning field issues affecting budget, quality, or schedule.
  • Supervise the daily work of employees.
  • Verify conformance of finished work and oversee compliance with contract requirements.
  • Ensure safety and environmental requirements are met.
  • Coordinate labor, equipment, and subcontractor resources with project subordinates and other company teams for timely, cost-effective project completion.
  • Ensure employees follow company safety and work rules and policies.
  • Ensure employees receive training required to operate the machines on which they work.
  • Assign work and monitor job costs and overall performance, including monthly forecasting.
  • Complete written reports on job progress, cost, and other matters as requested.
  • Support planning of on-the-job training for team members and monitor job-site safety and work quality.
  • Work with operations teams to create new opportunities for the company.
  • Review and provide feedback on the overall project schedule with the Project Engineer and update and distribute it to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Produce cost-based estimates for requests for proposals sent to the company.
  • Perform other assigned duties.
