Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering required; Master’s degree preferred
  • Minimum ten (10) years of experience in Configuration Management of complex multi-domain product data (an equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered)
  • Minimum five (5) years of proven direct product configuration management experience (Product structure, parts, drawings, and requirements management)
  • Minimum five (5) years of experience of demonstrated experience working in a highly regulated environment (aerospace, medical devices, nuclear, etc.)
  • Experience with CAD (CATIA V5/V6/3DX/NX), requirements management (IBM DOORS, Jama), and software code management (git, Subversion, Bitbucket)
  • Experience with Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) and/or data management toolsets for configuration management of complex products
  • Experience with project management, organizational skills, and attention to detail
  • Experience with PLM integrations to downstream systems such as ERP and MES systems
  • Operational experience managing company releases, agency records, and controlled data (i.e FAA, ITAR, EAR)
  • A detailed understanding of aircraft configuration principles, including reconciliation between OEM and vendor design/manufacturing systems
  • Knowledge of data management solutions as they relate to electronically stored documents, 3D models, substantiation, and design data packages
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Must have the ability to independently prioritize and accomplish work within time constraints

Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with various engineering subject areas to design high-reliability, safety-critical systems for an electric vertical takeoff and landing (eVTOL) aircraft
  • Demonstrate understanding of Configuration Management (CM) concepts, principles, and practices, especially in the aerospace industry
  • Coordinate the Configuration Management team’s workflow
  • Develop a comprehensive Configuration Management Plan (CMP) that is in line with industry guidelines and standard processes and prepares documentation needed during the audits from regulatory bodies such as FAA and EASA
  • Assume ownership of the execution of the organizational change process, ensuring changes are well documented, impacts assessed, reviewed, and communicated in a timely manner.
  • Take baselines of the program configuration data and make it available for critical design gate reviews such as PDR and CDR
  • Facilitate various change and configuration management boards such as CCB, etc
  • Analyze product baselines for compliance with regulatory and industry standards
  • Responsible for performing periodic internal audits to ensure compliance and continually update the processes and documentation
  • Coach and mentor junior team members to develop and guide them in their career progression
  • Partner with PMO organization to implement build plan
  • Up to 10% of domestic and international travel
  • Other duties as assigned
