Requirements
  • Valid Florida Driver’s License with an acceptable driving record
  • Ability to pass a background check screening in accordance with Florida’s Jessica Lunsford Act
  • State of Florida Standard Building Inspector License
  • Ability to read & write, including interpreting documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
  • Computer skills sufficient to operate a laptop, including sending and receiving emails, and the ability to learn Field Data Collection (FDC)/Inspector Gadget to input data and prepare reports
  • Mathematical skills sufficient to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
  • Reasoning ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, and diagram form
Responsibilities
  • Perform Structural Building Inspection duties (Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing as licensed)
  • Inspect commercial and residential buildings under construction or being repaired, remodeled, or enlarged
  • Determine whether changes may be required in plans and make recommendations to contractors, engineers, architects, etc.
  • Perform inspections of foundations, concrete slabs, framing, roofing, and related construction work
  • Maintain accurate, complete, and current inspection records
  • Prepare reports and report data in a complete, timely, and understandable fashion
  • Oversee maintenance of company vehicle
  • Ensure that project requirements are met and compliant with inspection specifications, requirements, and company policies or procedures
  • Attend all department meetings
  • Drive to various job sites at locations both locally and throughout the State of Florida
  • Work varying shift schedules as needed
  • Be willing to travel within the state of Florida
  • Turn in required paperwork daily
  • Follow all company safety procedures and policies
  • Other duties may be assigned
