Requirements
- Ability to undergo a background investigation by the U.S. Government and meet eligibility requirements for suitability
- Experience working for an organization related to supporting international development and humanitarian assistance programs
- Experience leading cross-functional teams in a dynamic environment, fostering mutual understanding, and presenting findings to a variety of audiences
- Knowledge of automated configuration management, continuous integration/deployment, and continuous monitoring solutions
- Ability to evaluate complex data and computer systems to find inefficiencies, analyze, weaknesses, or security threats
- Experience performing root cause analysis on internal and external data and processes to answer specific business questions and identify opportunities for improvement
- Proficient at working with a team to build processes supporting data transformation, data structures, metadata, dependency and workload management
- Experience with AWS including EMR, EC2, RDS, ELB, and Lambda
- Experience with infrastructure as code technologies such as Cloud Formation or Terraform
- Experience with CI/CD automation technologies such as Github Actions, Jenkins, GitLab, AWS CodeBuild or similar
- Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot and resolve build and deployment failures in CI/CD pipelines
- Experience with scripting languages such as Bash, Python/Boto3, Groovy or similar
- Proven communication skills and strong situational awareness of large programs
- We are looking for a candidate with a graduate degree in a technology field and 10+ years of experience in a combination of Data Engineer, Cloud Engineer, or Cybersecurity Engineer roles, or a commensurate combination of education and experience
Responsibilities
- Serve as a primary technical point of contact for a medium to large data program
- Oversee the implementation of transformational cloud enhancements, in collaboration with multi-contractor teams
- Research and experiment with new technologies and implement them to help improve systems and processes
- Supervise the maintenance of existing infrastructure for production servers, data analysis pipelines, and analytics tool sets
- Implement production and testing infrastructure using infrastructure as code
- Evaluate existing CI/CD pipelines and improve their scalability, stability, security, and efficiency
- Help improve builds and deployments to move away from custom tools towards industry standard tooling and technologies
- Continuously monitor all aspects of technical contract activities and recommend adjustments when necessary
- Architect overall systems using prototyping and proof of concepts
- Collect requirements to create and maintain optimal data pipeline architectures
- Identify, design, and implement internal process improvements: automating manual processes, optimizing data delivery, re-designing infrastructure for greater scalability, etc
- Supervise the building of infrastructure required for optimal ELT of data from a wide variety of data sources using SQL and 'big data' technologies
- Communicate with a wide range of digital delivery disciplines and talent
- Work with data and analytics experts to strive for greater functionality in data systems
