Requirements
  • Associates Degree in Medical Technology or related science
  • Current Medical Technologist (MT) or Medical Lab Technician (MLT) certification (ASCP) or equivalent
  • Minimum of two (2) years of clinical laboratory experience
  • Minimum of two (2) years of experience in assigned technical area
Responsibilities
  • Serve as the resource person for their assigned area(s) of responsibility
  • Monitor section processes and assure compliance with all accrediting agencies
  • Assist lab staff with resolution of problems involving technical operations
  • Perform as a bench technologist/technician
  • Assist the laboratory with ensuring technical operational policies, procedures and protocols are up-to-date
  • Aid in the selection and implementation of new instrumentation and/or tests
  • Participate in problem solving to address issues relating to patient safety, care and service
  • Maintain accurate logs, records, files and all other required documentation for process and log reviews, QC processing, and CAP proficiency testing program
  • Write and revise technical procedures
  • Investigate and report errors
  • Monitor supply and equipment inventory
  • Notify leadership team of needed equipment repairs and scheduled preventative maintenance
