Requirements
  • Have a high school diploma, GED, or technical school certification.
  • Possess a valid driver's license.
  • Have mechanical aptitude.
  • Be knowledgeable about automotive and truck systems, tools, and technical resources, and independently perform a variety of basic vehicle repairs and maintenance.
  • Consistently demonstrate proper use of repair and maintenance equipment and tools and maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area.
  • Provide exceptional customer service and improve customer service scores.
  • Technician C candidates must have at least 6 months of relevant automotive repair experience or completion of a formal automotive training program.
  • Technician B candidates must meet Technician C requirements and have 3 years or more of experience repairing vehicles at a dealership or automotive center.
  • Technician A candidates must meet Technician B requirements and have 5 years or more of experience repairing vehicles at a dealership or automotive center.
  • Have their own tools appropriate for their skill level.
  • Be able to work in heat and remain on their feet in a concrete facility for the entire work shift.
  • Be able to lift and carry automotive parts and equipment weighing up to approximately 80 pounds.
Responsibilities
  • Drive vehicles into service bays, prepare them for digital vehicle inspection, and complete the inspection.
  • Perform general automotive maintenance and repairs.
  • Test drive vehicles and prepare them for delivery to customers after repairs and maintenance are complete.
  • Keep the shop clean and organized.
  • Perform automotive repairs, adjustments, and maintenance procedures outlined on repair orders.
  • Complete fluid exchanges, alignments, brake services, basic repairs, and maintenance services.
  • Work with, mentor, and train less experienced technicians.
  • Perform advanced repair and maintenance services.
  • Complete electrical repairs, diagnostic repairs, and drivability diagnostics.
Desired Qualifications
  • G1-Auto Maintenance & Light Repair certification is preferred for General Service Technicians.
  • A state inspection certificate is preferred where applicable.
  • Air Conditioning 609 Certification is preferred.
  • Automotive Service Excellence certifications, including A4-Suspension & Steering and A5-Brakes, are preferred for Technician C.
  • Two additional Automotive Service Excellence certifications are preferred for Technician B.
  • Automotive Service Excellence A1-A8 certifications with Master Technician designation, or an equivalent combination of technician certifications, are preferred for Technician A.
  • Automotive Service Excellence L1-Advanced Engine Performance Specialist certification is preferred for Technician A.
