Geographic Information Systems Summer Intern

The CT Distribution Electric GIS Group is responsible for creating and updating a state-of-the-art GIS database that captures the location and condition of distribution, substation and land-base assets relevant to Eversource’s electric network. This internship offers an opportunity to gain work experience and become familiar with the working environment at Eversource and the use of GIS within utilities in general.

The intern will be responsible for assisting with data maintenance in the GIS database and related projects. The scope of the projects will be based on the current needs of the GIS group. Data will be mostly digital, but it may be necessary to reference older paper records in order to reconcile data conflicts.

The intern will work together with the team members, but should also be comfortable working independently with little supervision. The internship is in-person, based at our office at 107 Selden St in Berlin, CT between the hours of 7am and 4pm. Typical length of an internship varies from 12 to 14weeks based on your availability.
