Requirements
  • A bachelor's degree and three years of experience appropriate to the area of assignment or field, or an equivalent combination of experience and training.
  • Availability to work Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., with flexible evening and weekend hours based on student event programming and operational needs.
  • Ability to use computers effectively, including inputting, reviewing, and retrieving information and working for extended periods with a screen, mouse, and keyboard.
  • Ability to use critical thinking to make decisions and analyze data.
  • Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing.
  • Ability to attend meetings or events throughout campus regardless of weather.
  • Ability to work collaboratively across university departments and with diverse populations and groups.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Responsibilities
  • Assist in coordinating activities and functions of Student Experience through events and programming as a member of the Student Connection and Community team.
  • Assist in planning and implementing programs that promote student development, spirit, pride, and tradition within the university community.
  • Support university-wide traditions and assist in managing a significant budget while ensuring program goals and objectives align with departmental and institutional priorities.
  • Co-advise the Programming and Activities Board and advise several of its committees.
  • Serve as part of the Clubs and Organizations team, supporting student clubs and organizations across Arizona State University.
  • Support clubs and organizations as they navigate the club registration process.
  • Provide advice and guidance in planning and implementing a consistent, diverse, and robust lineup of campus events.
  • Serve as the main point of contact for Clubs and Organizations questions and guidance.
  • Develop undergraduate student leaders involved with the Programming and Activities Board.
  • Develop and execute university-wide traditions.
  • Support leadership training and organizational-management opportunities for Programming and Activities Board student leaders through workshops, seminars, and other professional development.
  • Support Educational Outreach and Student Services divisional initiatives and events, including Welcome Week and Pitchfork Awards.
  • Promote spirit, pride, and tradition among colleagues and students by implementing and participating in affinity-building programs.
  • Represent Student Connection and Community on department and university committees and attend seminars, workshops, and conferences.
  • Support relationships with university and external partners, including Aramark, Sun Devil Athletics, NACA, and sponsors.
  • Travel occasionally to off-campus events and other Arizona State University campuses.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Desired Qualifications
  • Evidence of an advanced degree, preferably in Higher and Post-secondary Education, College Student Personnel, Public Administration, or a related field.
  • Knowledge of student organization and student government advising strategies.
  • Experience advising college or university student organizations.
  • Experience creating and executing diverse student programming in higher education or a similar context, including workshops, presentations, and events.
  • Ability to train students for leadership roles and cultivate relationships with student and professional staff.
  • Ability to coordinate and prioritize tasks for oneself and others, with knowledge of university policy interpretation.
  • Ability to establish and nurture productive working relationships.
  • Proficiency in budgeting and understanding accounting principles.
  • Experience collaborating with diverse populations.
  • Evidence of strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Knowledge of management principles and practices, project management, and activity coordination.
  • Skill in organizing resources, establishing priorities, and implementing research.
