Requirements
  • Existing experience in leveraged finance, investment banking, private credit, debt advisory, or capital markets is preferred.
  • Strong organizational skills, including the ability to manage multiple deadlines and priorities with a high degree of ownership and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work closely with a small team of internal senior professionals and develop relationships with peers.
  • Proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to work in the United States without sponsorship now or in the future.
  • A bachelor's degree or a comparable combination of education, job-specific certification(s), and experience, including military service, is required.
Responsibilities
  • Work with senior bankers across Harris Williams on capital markets transactions, including leveraged buyouts, recapitalizations, refinancings, and add-on M&A financings.
  • Manage multiple projects and transactions simultaneously while working with senior bankers and clients.
  • Coordinate with industry teams to provide leverage guidance and debt-market insights for sell-side and buy-side M&A opportunities.
  • Curate transaction marketing materials and financial models for potential and existing clients.
  • Build lender lists for new opportunities using comparable transaction data, market insights, and current sentiment.
  • Manage deal-process timelines, outreach tracking, and diligence request lists for live engagements.
  • Communicate with deal-team members and clients, including corporate executives, private equity investors, banks, and private-credit partners.
  • Monitor leveraged-finance market trends and build materials that summarize them.
  • Support relationship management with active lenders across the market and Harris Williams transactions.
  • Participate in client and lender calls, meetings, and events.
  • Respond promptly to emails and calls, clarify deadlines, and stay aligned with the team on active workstreams and upcoming tasks.
  • Quality-check personal and teammates' work for accuracy before submission and seek feedback during and after key deliverables.
  • Work ahead by identifying next steps rather than waiting for direction.
  • Articulate thoughts and ideas verbally and in writing to teammates and, with experience and direction, participate in internal and external client-facing discussions.
