Requirements
  • A Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET-accredited program is required.
  • Engineer-in-Training or Engineer Intern certification is required.
  • A minimum of one year of experience in a water-resources-related civil engineering discipline is required.
  • Familiarity with field observation and construction administration tasks is required.
  • The candidate must understand civil engineering design principles, applicable codes, and regulatory requirements.
  • The candidate must be able to work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams while managing multiple assignments.
Responsibilities
  • Assist in planning, analyzing, designing, and coordinating public and private water-resources infrastructure, including water distribution, supply and storage, wastewater collection, and related civil projects.
  • Collaborate with project managers and technical staff to develop project proposals, scopes, schedules, and fee estimates.
  • Coordinate with internal disciplines, clients, regulatory agencies, and outside consultants throughout project development.
  • Support planning and modeling using industry-standard software, technical reports, regulatory compliance, and permitting processes, including TCEQ requirements.
  • Prepare engineering calculations, technical reports, design documents, and construction plans under the guidance of licensed engineers.
  • Review project details to proactively manage risk, identify potential technical challenges, and assist in developing practical engineering solutions.
  • Evaluate observations and systems to help ensure they withstand the elements at the installation site.
  • Participate in project meetings and contribute to technical discussions, project planning, design reviews, timelines, and deliverables.
  • Conduct field visits, investigations, site assessments, and construction observations under minimal supervision to support design development and project delivery.
  • Communicate project status and needs with internal and external stakeholders, maintain accurate project documentation, and support quality control and quality assurance processes.
Desired Qualifications
  • Familiarity with AutoCAD and other civil design software is preferred.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills are desirable.
  • Solid written and verbal communication skills are desirable.
