  • Maintain physician licensure, in good standing, acceptable in the State of Washington.

Responsibilities
  • Work with the healthcare team to provide patients with emergency medical care services.
  • Provides and manages direct patient care, including physical examinations, evaluations, assessments, diagnoses and treatment for a specified patient population.
  • Prescribes pharmaceuticals, other medications and treatment regimens to treat medical conditions.
  • Order laboratory and diagnostic tests, obtain medical consultation when clinically indicated.
  • Analyze reports, test results, medical records and examinations to diagnose and manage condition of patients.
  • Directs and coordinates the patient care activities of nursing and support staff as required.
  • Adhere to organization and departmental policies, procedures, and objectives, continuous quality improvement objectives, and safety, environmental, and infection control standards.
  • Document patient care conversations, care provided and all other work as defined by organizational standards in the EMR.
  • Promotes and contributes to a positive work environment, serving others with professional and positive attitude.
  • Responsible to train, demonstrate, or guide others in the performance of assigned work, includes, but not limited to, medical students and resident physicians.
  • Maintain patient confidentiality and comply with all federal and state health information privacy laws.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work area and take responsibility for departmental space.
  • Participation in a modified, organizational wide new employee orientation, successful completion of departmental orientation, and other medical staff committees.

Pullman Regional Hospital hires Craig Carstens, MHPA, as Chief Financial Officer. PULLMAN - Pullman Regional Hospital has hired Craig Carstens, MHPA, as its new Chief Financial Officer, succeeding Steve Febus, who served in the role for more than 30 years. Carstens brings over 15 years of progressive financial leadership across hospital and clinic settings, including critical access hospitals and multi-site rural health systems. Prior to joining Pullman Regional, Carstens served as CFO, CIO, and Compliance Officer at Floyd County Medical Center in Charles City, IA, managing strategic financial planning, capital investment strategies, and revenue cycle enhancements. He has also served as CFO at Osceola Regional Health Center, and as Director of Financial Operations at Mercy Medical Center. Carstens holds a Master of Health Policy and Administration from Washington State University and a Bachelor of Business Economics with a minor in Accounting from South Dakota State University. He specializes in leveraging data and analytics to improve financial decision-making, operational efficiency, and alignment with mission-driven care delivery. "Craig brings strong educational credentials, extensive experience, and deep financial acumen across multiple healthcare organizations, with a particularly strong background in rural healthcare," said Matt Forge, CEO of Pullman Regional Hospital. "His skills and leadership will undoubtedly be a huge addition to our team." Pullman Regional Hospital nurse kinsey Dewan receives DAISY Award. Kinsey Dewan, a Registered Nurse at Pullman Regional Hospital's BirthPlace, has been honored with a DAISY Award, part of an international recognition program celebrating compassionate nursing care. Dewan joined Pullman Regional as a Certified Nursing Assistant in 2020 and has spent five years providing maternity and newborn care at BirthPlace. The award came from a patient who praised Dewan's kindness and competence during the birth of her second child. When the baby experienced breathing complications, Dewan provided reassuring support throughout the challenging experience. "I work with the best people," Dewan said. "We have such a broad range of skills - every day is a different day, and I love that I get to be part of a patient's experience through every phase of care."
